I keep talking about how light woods are completely on my radar right now, especially as a design trend going into 2016.  On a recent trip to japan I had the pleasure of staying at the stunning Aman Hotel in Tokyo.  This hotel had me jaw dropped basically from the moment I got there.  I especially loved my room though, which was done in a traditional zen Japanese style fusing together light woods and minimal decor.  The hotel really felt amazing because the decor embraced the clean lines of Japanese design, while adding contemporary details like deep grey hues, which fused together a truly minimal and inviting space (wood elements always provide warmth to me).  Today I am sharing a glimpse of this space which has given me lots of inspiration for clean modern design this new year.  (Check out the Aman Hotels site for major wanderlust, as ALL of their hotels are breathtaking in design… their hotel in Marrakech is one of my personal faves).
